Trek Men's Factory Demo, Friday June 15

The Trek Men's Factory Demo, hosted by Cross Country Sports is coming to the MTU Trails on Friday, June 15! Join us this afternoon for bike demos and a cookout at the MTU Trails! Test Ride the newest Trek and Gary Fisher Mountain and Road bikes! Fun in the Mud

Dan Henderson had an impressive ride through the mud, taking the overall Sport race win by over a minute

Oskar Karinen took the top spot in his age group in the Sport race, and also placed 5th overall

Keweenaw Bike to Work Day is coming up next month! On May 18th, volunteers in Houghton, Hancock, Calumet and Lake Linden will provide snacks for non-motorized commuters from 7-9am and 3:30-5:30pm. CCS will be performing free bicycle safety checkups outside the shop on Oak Street in Calumet.

Great Bear Chase 2012

Congratulations to all the racers in the Great Bear Chase Bike & Ski races this past weekend!

For the fat bike race, conditions were great and the race was well attended with 23 participants! Congrats to Mike Brunet and Kathy Abbott on winning their respective divisions.

Red Jacket Cyclotron 2012

Congratulations to everyone who braved the wintry conditions last weekend to come out and race the Red Jacket Cyclotron! Pictures here and here.

Ladies Night Out! March 2nd, 5-7pm

Please join Trek Bicycle representative Lindsey Sherman and the staff at CCS for a women's cycling event to get you ready for the season! Whether you are just starting out, or have been cycling for years, we'll have something for you!

Topics include:

-WSD bikes
-cycling apparel
-flat pedals vs. clipless
-bike maintenance/roadside repair

We'll provide beverages & snacks, discounts on women's specific products and an evening of fun! Festivities will continue in Downtown Calumet at 7pm with the start of the CopperDog 150 sled dog race! Shops & galleries will be open until 9pm, and there will be music, food, fireworks, and a bonfire in the park! Don't miss out on the fun! Bring your friends!

Beginner Ski Lesson, Sunday February 12th!

Join Rick at Swedetown on Sunday, February 12th for a free beginner ski lesson! Classic (traditional) lesson will begin at 1pm, Skate lesson at 2pm. Bring your friends!

January 22nd is Swedetown Winter Trails Day!

On Sunday January 22nd from Noon to 5 p.m., Cross Country Sports and the Copper Island Ski Club will sponsor a Winter Trail Day at Swedetown!

~Free all-day pass for skiing or snowshoeing - available in the chalet any time after 10 a.m

~Free snowshoe or ski rentals, provided by CCS

~Free hot chocolate and apple juice in the chalet

Ski Club members will be on hand to suggest trails for beginners and to guide hourly snowshoe hikes. First come, first served for rental equipment, as available from noon to 5 p.m. Come to the Swedetown Chalet to check out equipment.
